Beware Genealogy Scams Meet My Best Friend

CAROLINE M. "BIBS" CRANE, 91, of Epoch Senior Health Center, Blackstone Boulevard, a retired librarian, died Wednesday [June 16, 2004] at home.
Born in Richmond, Mass., a daughter of the late Rev. William M. Crane and Eleanor (Runkle) Crane, she had lived in Providence for 40 years. Ms. Crane had been a librarian at Brown University for many years before retiring.
She was a member of the Women's Alliance at First Unitarian Church.
She was a graduate of the May School, in Boston, and Colby Junior College, in New Hampshire.
A world traveler, she enjoyed visiting the British Isles, Europe and New Zealand.
She liked politics and word games, and was an avid Red Sox fan.
She leaves a sister, Eleanor C. Schlosberg of Providence; and 15 nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edward P., William M., Chilton and Gordon Crane, and Frances Harrison.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in First Unitarian Church, Benefit Street.
