Obituary of Elizabeth W. Wood
HALIFAX - Elizabeth W. (Alger) Wood of Halifax peacefully passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. She was 86 years old.
She was born in Brockton, daughter of the late Ronald W. and Catherine (Stoddard) Alger.
Elizabeth was a member of the Grange for 50 years, Eastern Star for 50 years, the Y in East Bridgewater, the Farmers Club and many other groups for the years.
She was a longtime active member of the Halifax Congregational Church.
She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo and will be remembered as a great cook.
She was the beloved wife of the late Myron G. Wood Jr.; and the adoring mother of Bruce Wood of Halifax, Beth Wood of Shelbyville, Ky., Bonnie Wood of Halifax and Brenda Wood Pettingill and her husband Robert of Halifax.
She was the loving Grammy of the late Christopher Wood of Halifax.
She was the loving sister of Marion Gibson of West Bridgewater, Ruth Bosworth of Halifax, Esther Mondeau of East Brisgewater, William Alger of Halifax and the late Roland Alger Jr.
Also survived by many other family members.
A funeral service will be celebrated Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m. in the Halifax Congregational Church, 503 Plymouth St., Halifax.
