The Descendants of John Heywood of Concord, Massachusetts

Russell Moon of Eugene died Dec. 3 of age-related causes. He was 81. A celebration of life will be held later.

He was born Sept. 4, 1929, in Osage, Iowa, to Edwin and Minnie Scholl Moon.

He graduated from Roseburg High School. He worked as a log truck driver for Simpson Timber Co., and later as a part-time gravel truck driver.

Survivors include his life partner, Arleigh Watkins of Brookings; three sons, Edwin, Jeffrey, and Christopher, all of Crescent City, Calif.; three sisters, Alyce Anglin of Dallas, Ore., Bertha Millhollen of Eugene, and Alta Roberts of Redmond; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A son, Michael, died previously.
