Obituary of Mildred Ethel Webb
Mildred Ethel Webb of Eugene died Jan. 21 of age-related causes. She was 87. A celebration of life will be held later.
Webb was born June 19, 1918, in White, S.D., to Edwin and Minnie Scholl Moon. She married Claude Williams in December 1937 in Roseburg, and he later died. She married Wilbur Webb on Feb. 28, 1943, in Portland. He died Dec. 23, 1995.
She lived in White until 1920, then lived in Milaca, Minn., until 1927. She next lived in Osage, Iowa, until moving to Roseburg in 1936. She moved to Portland in 1941 and worked as a welder in the Vanport Shipyard during World War II. She moved back to Roseburg in 1943 and lived there until 1996, when she moved to Eugene.
Webb had taken business school training and worked as a secretary and bookkeeper. She enjoyed caring for her family and friends, gardening, knitting, crocheting and travel. She belonged to the Dixonville Grange.
Survivors include a brother, Russell Moon of Brookings, and three sisters, Bertha Millhollen of Eugene, Alyce Anglin of Dallas, and Alta Roberts of Shelton, Wash.
Private burial will be at Roseburg Memorial Gardens, England's Eugene Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church in Eugene.
