LAURISTON HARTWELL HAZARD. He was a cotton broker and civic leader and was graduated from Brown University. He was president of the Hazard Cotton Co. after 1911; president of Butler Hospital after 1926, and a trustee after 1913. He was at one time president of the R.I. Society for Board of Parole, and of the Providence School Committee; a director of the Providence, Washington and Anchor Insurance Cos.; trustee of the Peoples Savings Bank; and a member of the Hope Turk's Head, Providence Art, Agawam Hunt, and Jacobs Hill Hunt Clubs, Squantum Associated and Psi Upsilon. In 1924 he became Junior Warden of Grace Episcopal Church.
