Keith is the 8th child of Spence and Nellie Heywood. He was born in Thatcher, Arizona, Feb. 5, 1921. His family moved to Mesa when he was 2 years old. He attended Mesa schools and then went to San Digo, Calif. to work at Consolidated Aircraft. At the outbreak of World War II he joined the Army and was in the Infantry for 14 months. He took the air Corps exam for training as a Pilot and became a B-29 Pilot and Officer in the Air Force. He married M. Jeanne Mikkelson, Aut. [sic] 16, 1942 and they have 5 children. Their oldest son, Mike, is now serving a Mission for the Church in the West Mexican Mission. Keith recently served on a Stake Mission and is presently class instructor for the Seventies Quorum. Keith is President of Deseret Audio-Visual Company which produces church audio-visual materials. This has given him opportunities to associate with many of the General Authorities of the Church
