JOHN TERRILL CARR. Born in town of Wilton, Saratoga Co., N. Y., Sept. 28, 1822. Died in Saratoga Springs, N. Y., Aug. 25, 1889. Married in Mt. Pleasant, N. Y. on June 20, 1854 to Antoinette S. Granger. She was born in Vernon, N. Y. on July 13, 1834 and died in Saratoga Springs. She was a daughter of Oscar Granger who moved from Oneida, N. Y. to Greenfield, Saratoga Co. in 1844 and established a glass factory at Lake Desolation.
John T. Carr was a prominent attorney in Saratoga Springs, N. Y. where he resided most of his life. He was an active member of the first Baptist Church of that city.
The daughter, Carrie did not marry but remained at the family home in Saratoga Springs. I have vivid memories from childhood of the charming home with its huge flower garden that this daughter and her mother, then advanced in years, maintained. The son, Clarence, married Sara Kethreen Sutherland in St. Joseph, Mich. on Oct. 26, 1886. They resided for some years in Minneapolis, Minn. and as I understand were childless. On Jan. 30, 1946 Clarence celebrated his ninetieth birthday. He was then residing in Inglewood, Cal. On June 3, 1946 he passed away. He is buried in Saratoga Springs, N. Y.
